Figures other calculators get wrong
Budget 2026 changed neither the bands nor the main credits — pages showing a €46,000 single band or €2,075 credits for 2026 are wrong (€46,500 / €2,125 are the announced 2027 figures). PRSI rose by 0.15 points in October, not 0.10, and quoting 4.35% for the whole year overstates it. The USC middle band is 3% (a 4% figure is pre-2024).
Method
Income tax is charged in bands then reduced by your credits (never below zero). USC applies to total income once it exceeds €13,000. PRSI uses the blended annual rate with the weekly exemption and tapered credit annualised. My Future Fund, when selected, is 1.5% of gross pay up to the €80,000 cap, deducted from net pay (the State top-up replaces tax relief in that scheme). Not modelled yet: reduced USC rates (over-70s / medical card), non-Class-A PRSI, and income other than employment.
